TetraScience and Organon Team Up to Modernize Quality Control Data Management

TetraScience and Organon Team Up to Modernize Quality Control Data Management

Key Highlights

  • Organon LLC is deploying TetraScience’s Scientific Data Foundry to modernize quality control (QC) testing through automated scientific data workflows.
  • The implementation delivers up to a 30% reduction in analysis time by eliminating manual data transcription and paper-based processes.
  • The rollout begins at Organon’s Heist, Belgium manufacturing site, supporting faster batch release and stronger compliance.

TetraScience has announced that Organon LLC will implement its Scientific Data Foundry to modernize quality testing operations and streamline QC data management. The initiative supports Organon’s mission to deliver life-changing medicines by improving efficiency, data integrity, and compliance across manufacturing workflows.

The deployment will initially focus on Organon’s Heist, Belgium manufacturing facility, where the company aims to enhance batch release testing through automated, end-to-end scientific data workflows.

Biopharmaceutical quality testing has long relied on manual data transcription and paper-based documentation, processes that often extend batch release timelines and introduce compliance risk. The Scientific Data Foundry addresses these challenges by enabling automated data capture and standardized workflows.

Eliminating Manual Processes Improves Speed and Data Integrity

With TetraScience’s platform, Organon’s QC scientists gain bidirectional data workflows between laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and scientific instruments from all major manufacturers.

By removing manual steps in data processing and transcription, Organon is achieving up to a 30% reduction in analysis time, while also improving data accuracy and traceability. Scientists can now dedicate more time to higher-value analytical and investigative work rather than administrative tasks.

Automated data collection transforms siloed instrument data into human- and machine-readable datasets, enabling advanced telemetry, rapid retrospective analysis, and more efficient compliance monitoring and reporting.

Building a Foundation for Scientific AI

Organon executives emphasized that automation is not only improving operational efficiency but also empowering scientific teams.

“Our collaboration with TetraScience enhances the precision and speed of our quality control processes,” said Niamh O’Rahilly-Drew, AVP Quality at Organon. “By automating manual steps, we’re empowering our scientists to focus on innovation that brings essential medicines to women faster and more safely.”

TetraScience CEO Patrick Grady highlighted the broader significance of the deployment, noting that modernizing quality operations lays the groundwork for Scientific AI.

“Organon’s investment demonstrates how leading organizations are industrializing scientific data management to enable data-driven insights,” Grady said. “This foundation helps organizations better serve patients globally.”

The collaboration reflects a broader industry push to modernize legacy laboratory data systems and build frameworks where data flows freely, accurately and compliantly. It is a trend echoed by other biopharma partnerships targeting digital transformation.

As Organon scales the technology, it could serve as a model for other manufacturers seeking to shorten release cycles, improve data traceability and enhance scientific outcomes.
